10 Homemade skincare products for winter

Dry wrinkles cause lots of irritation and are painful, sometimes. All these problems, in such dry weather conditions, are irresistible.

Skin care in winter is a tough job. Controlling dryness factor is the most difficult part in skin care. Various cosmetics are available in the market, good for moisturizing, but it is really difficult to find the right one. Most of them contain polysyllabic mystery, some are toxic and some contain hidden animal ingredients such a pig gelatin. Indeed it is very easy to buy available products and to apply them but the results can’t be assured. Cosmetics must better be prepared at home because this gives you complete control of everything. You can select the ingredients by keeping in mind, their suitability with your skin type. Homemade products are safer and more economical as compared to other available products.

1. Sugar Scrub:

Exfoliation nourishes the skin and it is done by a sugar scrub which can easily be prepared at home. This sugar scrub is extremely good for moisturizing dry knees and elbows. It can be applied easily and smoothly without any professional guidance.

To prepare a sugar scrub at home you need to follow a simple procedure. Take two parts of sugar and mix them well with one part of olive oil or coconut oil, as per your choice. Add 20-30 drops of essence oil combination as per your own choice. Use of scents like rosemary, sage or lavender is usually suggested for winters. You can store this scrub in any baby food jar and it will give you better results.

 

2. Olive Oil:

Olive oil is an important kitchen ingredient especially in salads. But olive oil can be used for lots of skin remedies as it is rich in moisture. We all know how necessary this moisture is for skin care in winters. After taking a warm bath, nourish your wet skin by applying a few drops of olive oil. Later, cover your feet and hands with socks and gloves so that moisture can be absorbed well.

3. Coconut Oil:

Vaseline and petroleum jelly is a traditional way to gain moisturizer in the winters. Coconut oil is also a good alternative to this. Pure coconut oil is rich in moisturizers and gives marvelous results when applied on wet skin. It can keep skin moist, for hours.

6. Tomato Face Scrub:

Tomatoes and exfoliation, if they work together, can do wonders to your skin. Tomato gives a glow to the skin and if used for exfoliation it performs two tasks simultaneously; i.e. Cleansing and giving a glow to the skin. Cut a tomato in half, coat it with salt or sugar and then use it as a scrub on your face. Slowly and gently exfoliate your face with this wonderful ingredient.

7. Face Moisturizer

Skin care is incomplete without moisturizers. Moisturizers protect the skin from losing its natural water. Natural products are perfect for this purpose. Take Aloe Vera gel, vegetable glycerin and some essence oils and mix them well. Now apply this paste and you are ready to enjoy winters. 8. Winter Hair Mask:

Organic ingredients such as pumpkins are the best cure for this problem. Combine cooked pumpkins with coffee beans, brown sugar, lemon and olive oil and apply the mixture on your feet.
