Below given are the common eleven injectables used in lip augmentation surgery.

Collagen It is a natural injectable substance that supports the skin and its usual source is bovine collagen which is derived from cows. The effects of collagen last up to 3-4 months. Reputation is suggested for the maintenance of desired effects.
HylaForm, Restlyane They are crystal clear injectable gels and made up of hyaulcronic acid which is similar to natural hyaluronic acid. It is commonly found in human bodies. Their lasting period is different as HylaForm lasts for a period of 3 months and Restlyane lasts for about 6 months.
Radiance It is calcium-based microsphere injectable filler which is suspended in water based gel. It is useful for the provision of both temporary and permanent results. It is a good option because it can positively effect collagen’s production by stimulating it and also supports tissue regeneration. It lasts for 1-2 years.
Autologous Fat – There is no risk of rejection in using this fat because it is patient’s own fat. But it required repeated treatments because of the fact that fat will be re-absorbed by the body. It can give long lasting results when compared with collagen. Lumping or scarring is the possible aftereffects. So, for better results it is better to harvest it from another patient’s body.
Alloderm, Dermalogen –These products are usually accepted by the body and are good to produce a natural, pliable feel. These products are made up of the donation of cadaver tissue which can integrate with the patient’s own natural tissues, eventually.
Autologen – It is also free from risk because it is such an injectable dermal implant material which is made up of the patient’s own skin.
Fascia – It can also give good results if used as an injectable or surgical implant. This product is made up of dense white connective tissue which is more likely to support body structure.
Gore-Tex, Soft-Form –They are generally a well-tolerated product because of their permanent and synthetic surgical nature and carry minimum risk factor.
VeraFil –It is an inflatable saline implants (such as breast implants); and share a risk of deflation like all other saline-filled implants. It is long lasting but may require a replacement.
The V-Y Technique –It is a surgical technique without the use of fillers and implants. Its results are permanent and subtle.
Laser Lip Rejuvenation –It isn’t actually an “augmentation” procedure, but it is good for the provision of an uplift and smooth effect to the lips by tightening underlying collagen and supporting its structure.
