Every person knows that acne is closely related or linked with hormones so it shouldn’t be any surprising news that hormonal acne is considered to be the main and significant problem for many women. In this article we will discuss the role of hormonal acne in women.

Hormonal acne starts almost age 20 to 30 and it can affect equally women and teenagers. Women suffering from this type of acne will experience different lesions on the chin and the jaw line. Moreover, this type of acne starts during the stage of puberty. At the stage of puberty, various androgens start being produced. These hormones gets translate into the sebum produced by the various sebaceous glands. This is because oil skin is very popular and common among teenagers. Treating hormonal acne can be tricky and difficult because their hormones levels are changing.

Moreover, many women enter into their adulthood without solving the problem of acne. Women will also get acne in their stage of 20s and 30s before their menstrual cycle. Additionally, pregnancy is the time or phase when hormone levels of women explode and pregnant women experience hormonal acne during their period of pregnancy. A little and smaller percentage of women experience hormonal acne after the menstrual cycle because the estrogen levels gets decrease and testosterone becomes the main and dominant hormone.

On the whole after discussing the hormonal acne in women it is easy to conclude that this type of skin problem is very common among women. So women should consult to their doctors and dermatologists especially during their pregnancy period and menstrual cycle.
