What is Baker Cyst?

Cyst is defined as a closed sac-like structure and it is considered as an abnormal pocket of fluid that includes various gaseous and semi-solid substances. Cyst can occur any where in the person body and can differ in size. There are many types of cyst such as breast cyst, functional cyst, acne cyst and many more. In this article we will discuss the most important type of cyst i.e. baker cyst. This type of cyst is formed when an increase in the quantity of the synovial fluid and increased in the pressure of the joints. The most common causes of baker cyst are osteoarthritis, arthritis and rheumatoid.

Baker Cyst and its Symptoms:

Person who suffer from baker cyst never experience many symptoms. This type of cyst results in severe swelling, bruising and pain in the knee and negative impact on the skin care treatment. Many baker cysts are formed when person experiencing the knee injury and various skin care problems when excess amount of fluids build up in the tissue with the knee joint. This type of cyst normally occurs in the adults between the age of 50 and 70. Treatment of baker cyst:

For the treatment of baker cyst, many physicians select various medical and surgical procedures in order to reduce the symptoms and treatment of skin care, but the relief is temporary. Moreover, for the treatment of baker cyst, massage therapy is considered to be an alternative method or treatment for baker cyst and skin care and offering relief of swelling for longer period of time and also improve the knee flexibility. Before starting the massage, person should consult to the physician in order to remove or reduce carious contraindications. For the effective treatment of this type of cyst, various prescribe antibiotics are available such as tetracycline and erythromycin. Moreover, tea tree oil is also used for the treatment of this problem
