What Is Epidemiology?
Epidemiology is defined as the study or research of health-characteristic and health-event patterns in a particular society. In other words, it is defined as the cornerstone method or procedure of research related to public health and helps the people to inform various policy decisions by recognizing and identifying various risk factors related to disease and various targets for preventive and protected medicine. Moreover, epidemiology is involved in the design of different studies, analysis and collection of data, interpretation of data and results. Basically, epidemiology is derived from the Greek work epi means upon and demos mean people and logos mean study. This term is also used in studies of zoological populations. The term or concept epidemiology was first used in 1802 by Spanish physician known as villalba. Moreover, it also studies the interaction of various diseases in a population known as syndemic. This term is widely used all over the world in order to cover the description of many diseases but also related to various health-related conditions like high blood pressure and obesity. Moreover, this technique is also used to determine the main causes of various problems related to skin care.
